July 2006 - Ephesus is astounding if a) you bother to go in instead of just looking through the wire fence at it, and b) don't get conned into taking the free bus service up the hill that actually takes you to the nearest carpet shop, in the opposite direction. Luckily other people I know did these things first so we didn't have to.Incidentally you can get a bus to Ephesus from the bus station at Kusadasi, they are the ones that say Selcuk. Ours got annexed by some French students who assumed we couldn't understand them and were very rude behind our backs. Unfortunately despite N being French herself and understanding everything they said, we were defeated by their greater numbers and had to wait for the next bus.
